What is Lumbar Spinal Stenosis?
Lumbar spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the passageways in your spine that contain the spinal cord and the nerve roots. This narrowing can put pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots, which may cause symptoms.

Symptoms include leg, buttock and groin pain. These may get worse with prolonged walking or standing, but improve or even go away completely when you sit or bend forward. Back pain and morning stiffness may also be present.
Lumbar spinal stenosis can occur at any time but is most common in people over 50 years old and may become worse with age.
